Franz Schubert wrote over one hundred part songs, however they have not received as much attention as his Lieder. Die Nacht D983c is an a cappella song for two tenor and two bass parts, composed on a poem by Friedrich Wilhelm Krummacher. The song was composed around 1822 and was first published in 1823.
